coconut+chai=love.

so yesterday was a crazy day. david's gone, and i worked 2 jobs and 2 online classes. all while nursing a kid and wiping his butt.

how did i do it, you ask? with my super powers, my awesome, amazing super powers. thank you, God, for making me a woman!

it was definitely trying...even for my super powers.

so last night was a latte night. a coconut chai latte to be exact. and it made everything better.

snowy day

it snowed last night.

and david left at 6:30 am for mexico.

this week j-man and i are kickin' it alone. but it should be pretty fun :)

poor sick baby

jaythan's been sick. again. he was sick while we were in kansas, and i guess he never really got over it. the past few days have been full of sleepless nights, nasal aspirators, and snot--lots of snot.

but snot on my shoulder is worth it to comfort my beautiful boy. 

in happier news, today was much better. i think he's over the hump!

A Wonderful End to a Wonderful Year

Christmas in Kansas was wonderful. Our first Christmas in the states in 4 years,  it was full of family, friends, and beautiful moments. 

Now there are new numbers on the calendar, and I cannot wait to see what God will do this year. Last year at this time, Jaythan was a far off image in my dreams, save the slight protrusion of my belly and the constant heart burn. Now he's a mumbling little boy, with a mind of his own and a strange desire to explore everything with his mouth. Who knows what a new year will bring to us! 

Here is a taste of our trip back to Kansas. Really, it's just a shout out to Jaythan. His doings are the only thing that ever seem worth filming!

Kansas, here we come!

Greetings friends and fam!

Things have been busy, as usual, in the Fuller Pad. I am finished with my online classes, and David is finishing up his last few final papers as we speak!

We leave for Kansas on Friday, and I am so stoked I can hardly handle it. Not only have David and I not been in America for Christmas in the past four years, but now there's even a BABY to make the whole season even BETTER.

What am I most excited about? Watching everyone interact with Jaythan. There is something so great about feeling like I've given everyone a present. A new nephew, a new grandson, a new little friend.Carrying Jaythan into a room instantly puts smiles on people's faces, and because I bore him, I feel like I'm a part of blessing them :)

Update on the J-man. Last Sunday, we felt his first two teeth break the surface of his gums. And last night he began to sit up on his own! Such a big boy :)

I pray you all can rest and enjoy this coming season. Don't give in to the frantic chaos that society tells us is Christmas!

A long long time ago....

Dearest friends and family,

So there's this blog that I follow....and for the past month the absent-minded blogger hasn't written anything. I mean, how irresponsible! Doesn't she know that people sometimes read it! Doesn't she care that there's grandparents who want to see their grandson, and friends who want to hear about her life! Doesn't she realize!!!!

Sigh. I guess that blogger is pretty irresponsible. And probably looks funny. And smells bad, too.

Wait...what just happened?

Oh ya, I was talking about myself in third person.

So. Here it is. Almost December. CAH-RAY-ZEE. What happened to the last month!? Where do I begin? (This is why its bad to do things the Whitney way and procrastinate because now I have to try and fit an entire month's worth of happenings in one post. Arg.)

My brother and mother were able to come visit us a few weeks ago! That was absolutely wonderful. Really. Lifted my spirits. I have the best family in the world.

Other than that...nothing really too exciting has happened recently... so I'll just skip to Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving was a BLAST. David and I had over our friends Mun Kil and Boram, and their wonderful 15 month old son, Enoch. They are from Korea and we just love them. We also had over Eduardo and his 6 year old daughter, Jessed, who are from Mexico. Again...love. I made a huge feast with all kinds of traditional Thanksgiving food. All from scratch. Mostly farmer's market bought. All made the morning of in our tiny kitchen. See, folks, it CAN be done! I don't have pictures, but Boram took some and you can see them on Facebook!

Jaythan is just growing like a weed. He is now ticklish, and we love to hear that giggle when you scratch under his armpits! He also recently began grabbing at things. We aren't used to it yet, and have made the mistake--multiple times--of leaving something too close to him and having him knock it over or grab it. I guess we need to stop leaving butcher knives and cups of boiling water lying around the house....darn.

I finish my online classes this next week! (A&P and Microbiology...prereqs for nursing) And David just has a few more weeks to go before finals. The semester seems to be coming to a close, and we can't wait to board that plane on December 16th. Kansas, here we come!!
